Before Killa Vanilla, what did a typical evening (or day) of sugar cravings look like?
I’d be good as gold all day. No snacking. I like my 2 square meals a day - it works for me.
The snacking would hit during the two hour window before bed. Around 9:30pm and 10pm, it’d be snack time.
The cue in my brain is: it’s relaxing time, it’s reward time. Post work, post gym, come home, shower, cook dinner, sit for an hour, and watch television with my flatmate. They’d go to bed, then it’s my time for an hour or two. There was the proximity to the kitchen and the fridge too!
Admittedly, I’d always make sure there was a snack. I’d put it there, always as an insurance policy.
I know I shouldn’t have sugar before bed, but I still did. I’d end up spiking my sugar levels before bed. I’d feel that spark of energy, forget the tiredness, but end up going to bed later. And then wake up feeling tired!
How long had that pattern of snacking and cravings been part of your life?
Covid was a really difficult period. I was at my biggest after uni and before covid.
I used Killa Vanilla in February 2026, so it had been a pattern for many years!
What foods or drinks would you most commonly crave?
Bags of chocolate! Not sweets, nor cake. Chocolate is my sugary Achilles heel.
How did those cravings and sugary snacks make you feel afterwards?
I would be bloated and have a headache. There’d be a temporary energy spike, but I never consciously linked it to sleep. I'd be tired all day, but then I'd lie awake for 30-40 minutes in bed, even though I was exhausted!
Have you ever tried to calculate how many calories, snacks or treats you were consuming?
I tried it for a week and was so over it! I can’t be bothered with that! I’m a believer in moderation, including moderation itself! It’s not about kicking every treat out of your life, it’s about removing the dependency - and having no more panic when there’s no treats in the cupboard or fridge. I realised you simply don’t need it.
Had you tried anything prior to Killa Vanilla?
No.
How did you discover Killa Vanilla?
An industry event.
What made you decide to give it a try?
I was very curious about the product. I’ve spent a lot of time studying habits. Killa Vanilla’s approach to habit change resonated with me. I’ve been wanting to make small incremental changes in my life, for example, adding small amounts to my weights.
I wanted to create incremental improvements through psychological theory and action. I wanted that. And this stuff actually works.
How was your experience getting started?
I held off getting started for a few months! I categorise my health goals every year but delayed this until February. It took 4 months of knowing it was there - in my bedside drawer!
When did you first notice something changing?
The instant I used it! I can picture it now, when I first pulled Killa Vanilla out of my box. I was sat in front of the TV, on the sofa, had a little whiff, and thought - this is nice! I gave a whiff again, sniffed for 2-3 minutes, and thought: I’m good. I was also shocked. Understanding all the science beforehand helped - and it worked.
What were the first changes you noticed?
I thought in those 4 months of holding off, it would be a lot harder than it was.
I didn’t banish sugar from everything - because it’s in everything. I didn’t snack during the week and this led to a snowball effect. The new habit was forming without me realising. I didn’t go too hard too soon. It was through gradual changes.
I’d get to the end of the night and didn’t need the chocolate anymore. I wasn’t fussed.
It’s also trickled into other things. It’s even helped with Rosé. It has so much sugar in it! I’m good with water. My relationship with sugar has been transformed.
At what point did you realise your relationship with sugary food had genuinely shifted?
I had a light bulb moment the first time I used it! I thought: this is exciting! Why didn’t I start this sooner!
What changes have you noticed in your health, weight and wellbeing?
The main one is my tummy! It’s less bloated and now the ring around my stomach is disappearing!
Have you experienced any unexpected benefits?
Weight loss! My face looks less bloated! I’ve had friends saying: your jawline looks sharper. I can see my cheekbones even more. Chocolate and Rosé go to my face!
My V lines are coming back too!
How do you feel now compared with before using Killa Vanilla?
I feel a lot better mentally. There’s no spike in sugar at the time my body should be winding down for sleep. My sleep is deeper and I wake up feeling more rested.
When a snack enters the chat, I feel okay about it. I enjoy it. I don’t feel bad about it because I don’t have it every day.
I enjoy those snacks a lot more now.
I also hated how much money I spent on these things! So expensive! Especially the big sized bags!
What would you say to somebody currently struggling with sugar cravings?
Pick up Killa Vanilla! It can fit your own relationship with sugar. Because it is genuinely personal to everyone.
For people struggling it's not going to stop you ever wanting sugar again. I still enjoy sugary treats. It will change your relationship with sugary treats in a healthy positive way. You can have them on your terms.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your experience?
I feel so much happier and healthier in myself.
It has been the catalyst for positive changes. I’ve been able to form new healthy and positive habits without consciously thinking about it!
I am anti-diet - I believe in forming healthy habits! What I don’t like about diets, generally speaking, is it makes people eat less, but then become hungrier at night. And then end up eating more at night, which is more likely to be convenient, packed with sugar, rather than an actual meal.
